Stefanie Sacripante  “I LOVE this place. A little bit of everything, if you’re into vintage. Decor, clothes, etc. I didn’t want to review it because I’d prefer to keep it secret but the staff was so friendly they deserve a shout out. Prices are pretty good– the Google reviewer who said “overpriced yard sale” stuff should then stick to yard sales. I am a huge yard sale shopper– but I don’t expect yard sale prices at a REAL store. That said, they are NOT overpriced. I scored 2 fabulous vintage portraits for VERY cheap. I’ll be back ASAP.”

Joe Ballanderson “We found my daughter’s prom outfit here –a vintage “Mad Men” area skirt and top that fit her beautifully, was in good shape and the price couldn’t be beat — which meant I also ended up buying myself a sweater! Love the atmosphere. I have also gotten a couple of pieces of local art work which is very fun to have. There’s always something new to discover and many things can be “splurges” for me as the prices are reasonable.”

Kenneth Brown “Just moved to Virginia and I love this place. Very well priced and I can bring my own artwork in for consignment. It’s like a dream come true!”

A Google User “Eclectic gift & antique emporium with working artist studios upstairs. There’s always something new to discover. One of the most fun places to hang out during Falls Church’s First Friday events.”

Compliments via Yelp

Anne L. “I’ve been dropping in to this shop for more than a year now.  Walking through it is like a trip down memory lane mixed with therapy!  chatting with the artists gave me inspiration. Love to refinish small furniture pieces and I began consigning some things.  Now I rent space to work on my projects right there.  CeCe Caldwell products make it a breeze. The best of both world’s, I go treasure hunting to my hearts content looking for the next piece and then I work on my project.”

Rebecca M. “Stifel and Capra is a darling little place. I always wish I could go here more often because my visits are always delightful and productive.  The mix of artisanal and antique keeps a visitor on her toes. Look closely as there are always things that could be missed from scented soaps to vintage jewelry. The two stories are filled to the brim with well-curated finds and creations. It’s a great place for grabbing a birthday gift, hostess present, or stocking stuffer. Prices are generally on point, and except service with a smile.  Definitely one of the best shops of its kind in the area.”

John C. “Found this place by accident on a Saturday afternoon while looking for the Antique Annex nearby. This place is great! As another yelper stated, “The mix of artisanal and antique keeps a visitor on her toes.”  Agree 100%  I also think that the proprietors and vendors feed off of and inspire one another into making this place a real gem.  My wife and I found some very cool pieces at some great prices.  the owners are so personable and nice.  I really am looking forward to our next visit. They also sell other edible goodies like wine, peanuts, and chocolate which were yummy. Ample parking.”

Kimbery S. “When I grow up, I want to own a store like Stifel and Capra.  Located in historic Falls Church, I often find myself browsing here during my lunch break.  The bottom floor of this shop is dedicated to an assortment of vintage stationary and note cards (one of my guilty pleasures), toys, jewelry. clothing. and other knick-knacks while the top floor is littered with a bunch of different artists selling their wares.

During the first Friday of every month they host an open party where visitors can browse the gallery, sip wine, and sample food (often made and grown by the artist themselves!).  It is a wonderful way to connect with the art community and support local vendors.

For all of you DIY-ers out there, Stifel and Capra is also the only purveyor of chalk paint in town.  This paint is amazing for giving furniture a fun distressed antique look.

The best treasure I have ever found at the store was a set of tin kitchen canisters from the 1960’s for only $25.  I am a huge vintage girl and these types of canisters often go for much, much more at other shops.  I can’t help but think that they were probably used to house the ashes of some old lady’s dead cats because I bought them at such a great price but I haven’t seen any ghost cats popping up around my apartment so far (knock on wood).”

Donita H. “This is a wonderful place!  Staff is funny and warm.  Teresa is a hoot! Great place for gift items, yourself included. First Friday (the first Friday of every month in Falls Church) here is a great time to meet local artists, have a quick bite and there’s always something new to discover and an “a-ha” moment for decorating inspiration! Love this place!”

Posh P. “Such a fun shop to spend an hour or two looking around!  I went there a few weekends ago and came away with a great selection of vintage table linens.  The ladies working that day were warm and sweet.  It was a great place to shop for gifts.  Upstairs they have awesome jewelry cases full of vintage finds.  I found the prices to be quite reasonable for NoVA. If you’d like to see my full review check out :poshpurpose.blogspot.com…  ”

Jeff B. “What a cool shop.  We were visiting family in Northern Virginia for the holidays and found this store.   Great gift ideas, amazing – and reasonably priced original art…  even some excellent Bar B Q rub for the guys!   Worth the trip into Falls Church!  They even have plenty of free parking!”

Daniel M. “This store is a must visit while in Northern Virginia.  Local artisans and crafters items fill this historic landmark in Falls Church.  You will also find a number of vintage treasures.  I would strongly recommend this store to find unique handmade gifts for whatever occasion, as well as a great source for decorating ideas and items.”

Julia G. “Such a cute little store! Stopped there today to pick up something i bought on etsy…and had a difficult time tearing myself away. Local artist, vintage, and antique goods from furniture, table linens, clothing, jewelry and artwork all organized and displayed nicely.”
