DJ Gaskin works primarily in book arts and mixed-media collage. Her work reflects her love of nature and she often includes recycled materials in her work – everything from paper bags to pine needles. The variety of her work illustrates her joy of exploring, trying new methods and materials, and puzzling out challenges to grow something new from the seed of an idea. She’s been caught finger-painting, and she finds hand-stitching book spines very relaxing. Always eager to learn new skills, she’s also dabbling in watercolor crayons and regularly teaches herself new bookbinding techniques. Ask her about Secret Belgian Binding.
DJ is available for bookmaking workshops and happily accepts commissions for booklaces or other items.
