White Peach Pottery

White Peach Pottery
Marianne Tolosa at White Peach Pottery was born and raised in Arlington, VA. After a brief stint living overseas she returned to Falls Church, where she now lives and works as a ceramic artist. Virginia is her muse – the rolling landscapes in the west coupled with the geometric neighborhoods of urban Northern VA inspire her with their mix of simplicity and pattern.
She believes strongly in bringing the handmade into your everyday rituals, and focuses on creating functional, wheel-thrown, stoneware pottery. Her desire for White Peach Pottery is to counter the widely available, mass-produced housewares available today with thoughtfully handmade pieces. Her motto is: Using handmade things in your everyday life brings joy to the soul and communicates warmth to those who gather around you!
Marianne creates her work on the potter’s wheel and then high fires it in her kiln. After the initial bisque and glaze firings, she adds additional decoration – from 24k gold luster to hand-painted decals – and then fires it one more time. Her work is microwave and dishwasher safe (unless it has gold luster on it, in which case don’t stick it in the microwave and she recommends hand washing)
